CYCLELOGIK

When the owners of Cyclelogik bought out Sportables in Ottawa's Westboro Village, the owners were looking for a new logo and branding.

The store had two entrances. A rear entrance that included parking and a small, single door front entrance. Given the limited street presence of the front entrance along Richmond Road, I thought it was important to design a strong visual identity.

Along with cycling equipment, Cyclelogik also offers strength training, spin classes and race instruction. By using a solid, vibrant red and a black & white checker pattern, not only was visual attention achieved, but the checker pattern worked well to tie in the notion of a finish line which is, of course, a strong element in the sport of bicycle racing.

After the final design was approved, I utilized seven areas of the building’s exterior to ensure easy-to-find direction along the stretch of retail stores. The next step was adopt the design onto: business cards, invoices, price tags, envelopes and letterhead.

Once all of the designs were approved, I set up all of the print-ready files, took care of the printing, sign manufacturing and installation.
